A LITTLE STORY BEHIND FINDS

About FINDS

We’re a small group of finders in China.

Different jobs. Different stages of life. Very different tastes.

FINDS isn’t our full-time job. We simply enjoy finding things — and sharing the ones that stay with us.

What are people here actually into?

Some of us have lived abroad, and we know the feeling of wondering what local people are actually into.

Not just the tourist lists. Not just the bestsellers.

What are people noticing, saving, buying, using and talking about?

We’ve wanted to share some of the things we genuinely like in China with people outside China for a long time.

FINDS is our little attempt to make that easier.

AI helped us make FINDS possible.

Building something like this used to require much more time, technical work and resources than a small group like us could realistically put into a side project.

AI changed that.

It helps us build, translate, design, explore ideas and discover interesting things. It allowed us to turn something we had talked about for a long time into a real website.

We’re genuinely grateful for that.

The finds are real.

Some of the promotional visuals you see from FINDS on social media are AI-generated or AI-assisted.

The product photos on FINDS are real. So are the products, the shops and the experiences behind our recommendations.

Together, our finders bring decades of real-life shopping experience — buying, using, comparing, loving and occasionally regretting things. 😅

AI can help us discover something good too.

What we add is our own lived experience, personal taste and the very subjective feeling of simply thinking:

“I like this.”

Different people. Different tastes.

That’s why FINDS might sometimes feel a little random.

Ceramics. Shoes. Bags. Beauty. Phone cases. Small objects. Things that are difficult to categorize.

We don’t want everything to look like it was selected by one person with one definition of “good taste”.

The variety is part of the point.

See something you like? Take a closer look.

We want FINDS to stay simple.

We show you what something looks like, where we found it and why someone here liked it.

If it catches your eye, you can explore further and decide for yourself.

And maybe you’re not looking to buy anything at all.

Maybe you’re simply curious about what some people in China are interested in right now.

That’s good too.

Today, mostly products. Tomorrow, who knows?

Over time, FINDS may grow beyond products.

Places. Apps. Local platforms. Culture. Trends. Or simply another little corner of life in China that someone here thinks is worth sharing.

FINDS will probably always be a little random.

We like it that way.

Different people. Different tastes. Real finds.
